This year the Chamber of Commerce is having a luncheon for their 2012 Annual General Meeting. The meeting will commence immediately following the guest speaker. Please register before May 18, 2012.

Thank you to everyone who joined in the festivities of 2011. Our unusually warm weather this year turned out a good crowd for the Night Light Parade. Next year’s parade will be on Nov 29, 2012.
Candy Cane Countdown was its usual hit and retailers were happy to see quite a few out of town shoppers. The Grand Prize winner of $2000 is Kristy Reiniger and the two Early Bird winners of $250 are Karen Gannon and Jean Clark.
Our community raised $2894 during the Festival of Trees and supported many important organizations. Trees were donated by Tim Horton’s, EastAlta Co-op, Long’s Drug Mart, Integra Tire, Leckie & Assoc., 1st Vermilion Scouts, Vermilion Standard, CIBC, Order of the Eastern Star, and Paw Prints. Receiving charities were Santa’s Anonymous, VES Hot Lunch Program, Vermilion Food Bank, 1st Vermilion Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Breast Cancer, and Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Looking forward to seeing on the parade route. Passports for next year will be available Nov 26, 2012.

There was a great turn out for the 47th Annual Farm Curl, it was nice to see all the familiar faces. With 34 teams and 72 sponsors the bonspeil was a great success once again.

Celebrating Women’s Strengths
